Campaign social media account (Twitter/X, Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky)
If your campaign has an active account on one of the platforms above, we will accept a direct message or post tagging @Ballotpedia from the account for verification. The account must meet the following requirements:
- A profile photo of the candidate
- A mention of the candidacy in the biography
- A header image
- At least 4 posts
- Must have been an active campaign account for at least one month prior
Example language for a public post:
"I took the time to complete @ballotpedia's Candidate Connection survey to share my vision and goals. You'll be able to see the responses on my profile soon."
If you don't have access to a smartphone or a campaign social media account, we will accept a voided check mailed to our business address. To be clear, we do not want payment, so we encourage candidates to black out or cut off the account and routing numbers and write VOID across the check. Our address is:
